Elaine Seat (PhD, PE) is well-positioned to address the leadership development of the technical professional workforce. After 20 years in industry as a design engineer and engineering manager, coupled with her doctorate in Education/Sport Psychology, Dr. Seat was appointed a National Science Foundation (NSF) Visiting Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Engineering. She created a Leadership Development minor for Engineers and was part of the team that created the award-winning engage™ freshman engineering program. She served as creator and PI for nine NSF grants while in the College of Engineering..

In 2003, Dr. Seat was named the Director of the Aerospace Executive MBA program in UT’s Haslam College of Business where she also served on the faculty and as an executive coach. She currently is on the faculty of the Management Department where she focuses on teaching Leadership skills to undergraduate and MBA students. In this capacity she teaches negotiation, change management, communication, conflict resolution, and workplace performance enhancement. Her consulting focuses on managing generational differences and creating/delivering leadership development programs for high potential employees

Dr. Seat’s understanding of behavioral change and her experience working with engineers and technically focused adult learners inspired her to develop a new type of leadership development program – the Ambio360™ Development System which is now used in corporations, the military and academia.

Dr. Seat has been featured in industry publications for over 15 years on improving human performance and building professional skills to help people advance in their organization. She has over 30 articles in research journals and trade publications, and is a frequent invited speaker for management groups in healthcare, automotive and engineering.
